whatSHOULD I DO FOR PRE-TREATMENT CARE?
We recommend daily use of our Restorative Gel to prepare your skin for laser treatments. It is naturally formulated to expedite cellular turnover, hydrate skin, and reduce skin sensitivity and irritation.
Avoid sun exposure greater than 30 minutes (in the span of 1–3 weeks, depending on the instructions given by your laser technician), even if wearing sunscreen.
Avoid tanning beds and sunless tanning products 3 weeks prior to your treatment to prevent adverse reactions.
The treatment area must be clean-shaven 12–24 hours before your treatment. Unshaven clients will be rescheduled. Shaving services are not provided in the clinics.
Avoid physical activities that raise your body temperature for at least 2 hours before treatment. Stay away from hot showers, saunas, and hot tubs, etc., as heat can worsen histamine reactions and increase swelling.
Skin must be clean and free of makeup, moisturizers, lotions, oils, deodorant, numbing cream, etc. Products on the skin can increase the likelihood of adverse reactions from the laser.
Skin that is sunburned, hot to the touch, peeling, or otherwise damaged cannot be treated, and you will be rescheduled based on the instructions given by your laser technician.
Gently exfoliate the treated area(s) two to three times a week. This helps remove dead skin and keeps your hair follicles clear, which gets your skin ready for your next treatment.
Any topical or oral medications must be reviewed by Simplicity Laser to determine if they may cause photosensitivity. If so, your appointment may need to be rescheduled. We recommend calling our care team before your appointment to confirm eligibility.

whatSHOULD SHOULD I DO AFTER MY LASER HAIR REMOVAL APPOINTMENT?
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 14 days post-treatment. Careful sun exposure of no more than 30 minutes may be resumed 14 days post-treatment with daily use of Zinc Oxide sunscreen (SPF 30+).
Avoid physical activities that raise your body temperature for at least 2 hours after treatment. Stay away from hot showers, saunas, and hot tubs, etc., as heat can worsen histamine reactions and increase swelling on treated skin.
We recommend daily use of our Restorative Gel to calm and restore your skin after laser treatments. It is naturally formulated to expedite cellular healing, hydrate skin, and reduce skin sensitivity and irritation.
Mild redness and swelling of the hair follicles may occur (histamine reaction). This is normal and should lessen with time. Avoid itching or scratching the skin. A cool cloth or cool compress may be applied. Never apply ice directly to the skin.
If redness, swelling, or itching continues, taking an over-the-counter antihistamine (Benadryl, Zyrtec, or Claritin) can help reduce histamine-related itching and redness. Please consult with your primary care provider before taking this medication.
Gently exfoliate the area(s) two to three times a week. This helps the hair shed from the follicle after treatment, prevents ingrown hairs, and preps the follicles for your next session.
