Dr. Patricia Navarrette Mars is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has been in private practice in Tucson, Arizona for 26 years. Dr. Mars, a fifth generation Hispanic Tucsonan, has deep roots and a love for this community and has raised her family here. She received her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Arizona. Her 8 years of surgical training included general surgery at Tufts-New England Medical Center, Boston and at SUNY affiliate Maimonides Medical Center, New York. She completed her plastic surgery training at the University of Southern California along with a two-year research fellowship in wound healing at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Dr. Mars is the creative force, sole owner and medical director of Venus By Mars Cosmetic Surgery and La Paloma Surgery Center, a private state certified surgery center that she opened in 2012. Her practice focus for 26 years has been cosmetic surgery and she specializes in body, breast and facial surgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques. She has a special interest in complex re-operative cosmetic breast surgery and emerging technology. Her experience and expertise have made her a requested speaker at local, regional and national meetings. Besides her practice, she is passionate about and actively involved at the national level to promote, mentor and encourage women of color in plastic surgery.
Dr. Mars is board certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Aesthetic Society, Arizona Society of Plastic Surgeons, Women's President Organization, Women Plastic Surgeons, Women of Color Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. She is an outside medical consultant for the Arizona Board of Medicine. Her honors include America's Top Surgeons, Women Who Lead (University of Arizona Women's Council), Compassionate Doctor, Who's Who in American Women, and America's Best Surgeons. Her volunteer work has included board membership for the YWCA of Southern AZ for 6 years and numerous committee membership for the ASPS including elected positions.
